An eQUIP pressure relief valve is designed for cement silos, fly ash silos, lime silos and dry bulk powder storage systems. These valves are designed to help protect silos against excessive positive pressure and vacuum conditions that may occur during pneumatic filling, discharge or abnormal operating situations.
Final configuration and suitability require a technical review of your material and operating conditions.
A pressure relief valve is installed on the silo roof as a safety component. During silo filling, air entering the silo must be vented correctly through the silo top filter. If venting is restricted or pressure rises beyond the allowed range, the valve opens to release excess pressure. In vacuum conditions, the valve can also help admit air into the silo to reduce negative pressure.
Unlike flow control valves, this silo safety valve is not used for material dosing or discharge regulation. Its main function is silo protection. It supports safer operation of cement silos and powder storage systems by acting as a mechanical safety device against overpressure and vacuum.
A pressure relief valve helps protect a silo from excessive internal pressure or vacuum. It operates when the pressure difference inside the silo reaches the valve’s set range, allowing the silo to relieve pressure or equalize negative pressure.
In cement and powder storage applications, this is especially important during pneumatic filling, where large volumes of air enter the silo together with the material. The valve works together with the silo top filter and other silo safety equipment to support safe and controlled silo operation.

My orders and documentsHow to select
The selection of a pressure relief valve depends on the silo design, operating pressure range, filling method, discharge conditions, material type, venting capacity and site requirements. eQUIP can supply configurations according to the silo system and safety requirements of the project.
For cement silos and dry powder storage systems, correct installation and regular inspection are important. The valve should remain clean, free to move and properly seated to ensure reliable response during pressure or vacuum events.

Provide the silo design pressure limits, required relief capacity, material, filling conditions and roof connection dimensions. The selected valve must match the complete silo system. See our silo filling and dust-control guide to distinguish normal venting from pressure protection.
Questions buyers ask
A pressure relief valve is a safety valve designed to help protect silos against excessive internal pressure or vacuum. It is commonly installed on the top of cement silos and powder storage silos.
During pneumatic filling, air enters the silo together with cement or other powder materials. If the air cannot vent correctly, pressure may rise inside the silo. A pressure relief valve helps release excess pressure and supports safer silo operation.
Many silo pressure relief valves are designed to respond to both positive pressure and negative pressure conditions. Vacuum relief helps reduce the risk of silo deformation during discharge or abnormal operating conditions.
A pressure relief valve is a safety device used to protect the silo from excessive pressure or vacuum. A silo top filter is used to filter dusty air during silo filling. These products have different functions and are often used together on silo systems.
No. This device is not used for dosing or controlling material discharge. It is a silo safety component designed for pressure and vacuum protection.
Pressure relief valves are commonly used on silos storing cement, fly ash, lime, mineral powders and similar dry bulk materials.
The price depends on valve size, pressure and vacuum function, body material, connection flange, weather protection, surface treatment and project-specific silo requirements.
